CAPSLO Partnership
Supporting Migrant & Seasonal Head Start Programs
At Olive Leaf Family Therapy, we are honored to serve as the mental health consultant for the Migrant and Seasonal Head Start (MSHS) Program offered by Community Action Partnership of San Luis Obispo (CAPSLO).
CAPSLO refers families and educators to us for specialized mental health consultation and therapeutic support.
Our work supports CAPSLO’s mission to serve agricultural working families by enhancing early childhood development and family well-being through culturally responsive, bilingual care.
What We Do
As the designated mental health provider for CAPSLO’s Migrant and Seasonal Head Start centers
and in-home programs, Olive Leaf Family Therapy offers the following services:
Classroom Observations
We observe classroom dynamics to support positive behavior, emotional regulation, and inclusive practices.
Teacher Consultations
Our consultants work closely with teaching staff to address behavioral concerns, strengthen relationships with students, and offer strategies rooted in trauma-informed care.
Brief Therapy Services
We provide short-term, culturally sensitive therapy for children and families when additional support is warranted.
Individual Child Observations
When behavioral or emotional concerns arise, we offer individualized observation and guidance to better understand a child’s unique needs and strengths.
We provide a mix of in-person and virtual visits, depending on what works best for the program and families involved. All services are available in English and Spanish, ensuring that language is never a barrier to care. We also provide services in additional languages upon request.
Where We Work
Our support extends across the following counties in California:
Ventura
San Joaquin
Kern
Fresno
In each of these regions, Olive Leaf Family Therapy partners with CAPSLO’s local MSHS centers and home-based programs to ensure that mental health support is accessible, relevant, and responsive to the experiences of migrant and seasonal working families.
Building Resilient Futures—Together
Through our work with CAPSLO, we are privileged to help children build strong emotional foundations, support teachers with tools for success, and walk alongside families navigating complex life transitions. We recognize the strength and resilience of the communities we serve, and we are committed to providing care that honors their lived experiences and promotes lasting well-being.
