Josie Bennett is an Associate Clinician at Olive Leaf Family Therapy who specializes in anxiety, depression, and trauma and PTSD. She works with children, teens, adults, and families, supporting clients through major life transitions and valuing the collaborative, trusting relationships they build together. Josie especially enjoys working with clients who are curious, reflective, and open to creative or nature-based approaches.
Josie's approach is warm, collaborative, and rooted in curiosity. With specialized training in Art Therapy, she offers creative processes that support insight, emotional expression, and growth, and she weaves in nature-based practices when they feel supportive for clients who are grounded and inspired by the natural world. Her hope is that clients experience therapy as a space to slow down, listen inward, and make sense of their experiences, deepening self-understanding, shifting patterns that no longer serve them, and strengthening their ways of coping and connecting so they can reconnect with their most authentic self.
Josie earned her M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy with a specialization in Art Therapy from Loyola Marymount University. Her clinical experience includes work with children, teens, adults, and families across community mental health, psychiatric, and school-based settings. She brings specialized training in creative therapeutic approaches, along with a background in ecology that supports nature-based healing practices.
"My path to becoming a therapist grew out of my own healing journey. I've come to trust that our capacity for change and growth is always here, even when the work feels difficult. I'm continually inspired by the healing that unfolds in the therapeutic process and feel honored to walk alongside my clients as they do this work."
