Marysol Ortiz is a Registered Associate Social Worker at Olive Leaf who brings advocacy, cultural sensitivity, and empowerment to her work with clients. With specialized focus in anxiety, stress, and cultural sensitivity, Marysol is passionate about advocating and serving minority and oppressed groups, driven by her deep commitment to social justice. She has worked with a variety of clients from different ages and backgrounds, from school-aged children to adults, with particular experience advocating for Latino families, rural communities, and children with disabilities.
Her approach to therapy is strengths-based—empowering clients to recognize that they have the power to take control of their own lives. Marysol utilizes CBT interventions during sessions to help clients make connections between their actions, thoughts, and feelings, creating a foundation for meaningful change. She creates a supportive environment where clients can gain the knowledge that they are capable of growth, change, and recognize their worth as individuals.
Marysol holds a Master of Social Work from Fresno State and has gained extensive experience providing clinical and counseling services to school-aged children dealing with complex issues such as stress, anxiety, and depression. She also has experience providing nurturing parenting classes for parents, helping them be prepared to meet their children's needs as well as their own, enriching her ability to support families with both clinical expertise and culturally responsive care.
"La vida empieza muchas veces." Meaning life starts over many times. Reminding ourselves that change in our lives often happens, whether it is in control or not, but we are capable of anything that comes our way.
