As a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist at Olive Leaf Family Therapy, Sarah specializes in working with relationship issues, marital and premarital counseling, and adult caregivers of elderly and aging parents. She uses Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) in working with her couples. EFT has been shown to be 75% effective in treating couples and 90% report significant improvement in their relationship, nearly twice the success rate of other forms of couples therapy. In EFT sessions with Sarah, clients can expect a focus on exploring relationship dynamics, improving emotional connection, and creating new and lasting meaning.
Reaching out for therapy can be a frightening experience. Clients may not know how to get started, what to expect, or how their relationships could change. Working with Sarah, they find a therapist who is empathically attuned, collaborative, and non-judgmental. She provides a space that is emotionally safe and grounded so meaningful work can happen.
Sarah earned her B.A. in Psychology from the University of San Francisco and her M.A. in Marriage & Family Therapy from Chapman University. She is continually humbled and honored that clients allow her to walk alongside them into the unknown and sometimes painful places in their lives and relationships in order to find their way toward a happier and fuller life.
Sarah has a passion for working with members of the LGBTQ+ community, couples, families with children, adolescents, and teens, and adult caregivers for elderly and aging parents. When working with Sarah, clients can expect a solution-oriented approach that draws on their strengths, resources, and values to reach concrete and collaborative goals.
